West Hill School is a Community Special School with Specialist College status for children with learning difficulties and Autism aged from 11 to 16 years.
As part of our Specialism we decided to increase our horticultural provision and started to develop the site at the rear of the school. In January we were approached by the North Leatherhead Community Group who wanted to join forces with us to create a community garden. We are extremely pleased to be steering this joint project which brings together both our school community and the wider local community.
Future plans include the planting of an orchard which will enhance the opportunities of outdoor learning for our pupils and the local community alike.
