Enter our first Recycled Scarecrow Building competition at Leatherhead Community Garden!
We are encouraging all local schools, businesses, community groups and families (or even a bunch of friends!) to take up our challenge and let their creative skills create some eye catching entries.
We are encouraging all local schools, businesses, community groups and families (or even a bunch of friends!) to take up our challenge and let their creative skills create some eye catching entries.
Prizes: TBC Registration: To register, please fill in the online form at the bottom of this page. Forms must be received before Tuesday 21st February 2012, 6pm. Construction: *Your scarecrow must be made from scratch. *It must withstand all weather conditions. *Your scarecrow must be a maximum of 1.5 meters tall. * Judging will favour the use of recycled materials such as used plastic, old clothes and pallet wood. Please note no glass should be used in the making of the scarecrow. Setup: Scarecrows must be set up by contestants between 10.00 and 12.00 on Saturday 25th February 2012 at Leatherhead Community Garden. You will be assigned a number and location for your scarecrow on the day. Judging: Judging will happen on Saturday 25th February 2012 at 12.30. Winners will be announced at 1.30pm. There will be three judges. Scarecrows will be judged on: Durability, Use of recycled materials, Colour After the competition: You may take your scarecrow home after the competition. Maybe he/she will come out for bonfire night! Alternatively you can donate your scarecrow to the Garden and it will be displayed all year round. Information and rules: *The contest will take place at Leatherhead Community Garden situated at West Hill School, Kingston Road, Leatherhead, Surrey. KT22 7PW. This will happen on Saturday 25th February 2012 *Registration forms must be with the organisers by Tuesday 21st February 2012, 6pm *Entries will be judged on durability, use of recycled materials and colour *Each entrant is responsible for setting up and maintaining their scarecrow *Organisers are not responsible for any loss or damage to entries. *Decision of the judges is final *Leatherhead Community Garden reserve the right to use photographs of the scarecrows for future publicity |
