This weekend we were asked by Ruth and Belinda to join them at the Farnham Maltings Festival of Crafts to promote the great partnership we have had over the last seven months. A steady stream of people visited our stands. We enjoyed the conversations and telling the story of the Garden.
I have never weaved so many willow hearts! Actually, it was my first time today! I didn't do too bad! They were hot sellers at the shop we set up in the foyer.
Ruth and Belinda manned workshops for making willow hearts and wooden bug houses. Ruth got her power tools out too!
Pat showed people how to take cuttings. Then Gary had a go....! He did make us laugh! He then managed to sell one of our pumpkins from this year.
Claire turned up with the beautiful cupcakes (see last post) and left them with Gary to look after......!
It was a very long day but we got some great advice and made new contacts in the gardening business :)
Many thanks to Gary, Pat and Claire and of course Ruth, Belinda, Lucy and Ruth's mum!
Great weather again!
More work was done on the bench for the Garden. We had time to investigate the other Making Surrey stalls and put Leatherhead Community Garden on the clay map in the room next door to us!
Lots of tidying up at the end of the day but it was worth it. Thank you so much to Making Surrey especially Ruth, Belinda and Jane. What a fantastic partnership! Looking forward to working with you all again soon.....!
