We tried, with some success, to make blooming paper today.
Using recycled newspaper we blended it with some water in a bucket and placed a grid in the mush to catch the paper fibres. We then sprinkled cress seeds and dried flower petals on top.
We then used some heavy pieces of wood to sandwich the grid and squeeze out as much water as we could. the kids loved stamping all over the sleepers!
As it was a beautiful sunny day the paper dried out quite quickly. It makes some wonderful note paper.
Now if we put the paper in a dish of water the cress seeds will grow! Clever!
